Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?

its leaking from the side of the oil pan. This all started after i got my oil changed, it started as a little leak then got bigger. what could this be? where can it be comming from? how much would this cost to replace?Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?Make sure the drain plug is tight otherwise, it could be the oil pan gasket and it should cost round $60 parts and labor. It depends on where you take your vehicle for repairs.

Good luck.

After the additional details...

Sometimes the leak is on a top or side of the engine but when drive it the wind pushes it to the back misleading you.

If your oil pressure sensor is leaking, for example, it will leak only when the engone is running, the leak would be taken towards the rear of the vehicle making you think you have bad oil pan gasket. The same problem (the sensor) would cause a low oil pressure reading.

Inspect or replace the sensor.

Good luck again.Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?Sounds most likelty to be the sump plug. Or a split in the sump its self. or in the seal between the sump and the block.Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?Based on your facts: It's probably either from the filter or the plug. One isn't tightened enough (or isn't sealed).

Generally speaking this can cause your pressure to be low (because there's no seal air is leaking out of your crankcase pushing out the oil).Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?Could be a loose drain plug. The loss of oil pressure might indicate that the filter is loose. The lack of the correct amount of oil in the engine would cause low oil pressure also. You might also want to check the dip stick tube, where it connects to the engine block.

A leaky pan gasket as no affect what so ever on oil pressure. If there is air pressure in the oil pan, it would because of bad piston rings. A condition known as %26quot;blow by%26quot;.but, that would not cause low oil pressure.Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?sometimes when you swap out the old oil filter, the old gasket gets stuck on the engine from the old oil filter and it gets overlooked by the mechanic doing the service. This will cause the sudden oil leak you are having. The other possibility would be the gasket on the drain plug, could be missing or worn or just loose. Return the car back to the garage who done your oil change and explain to them the engine never leaked before and you want the engine inspected. Ask if you can watch so you understand what went wrong.

good luck......Where is my leak from on a 1991 chrysler lebaron v6?Get an engine oil leak detection dye, from any parts store, then use a black light bulb to trace the leak. This could also be your oil pressure switch leaking.
