The oil pan is about 1 hr + the seal is around 20 bucks, the power stearing may be a seal but it may be a crack, this could run 200 for the unit. Take his advice - if he tells you it's not worth it you better believe it. He makes money on fixing cars, not telling people the opposite. The main seal alone is probably $1000 (transmission has to come out to gain access).
Just drive it untill it dies.
