I was told it sits next to the drain plug. can i get to it and change it externally? or dose the oil pan have to be removed.How hard is it to change an oil level sensor in a BMW 325i?Anybody with half a brain and maybe one hand can do this job.
First you have to drain the oil through the oil drain plug. The oil pan does not have to be removed.
Then remove the plastic lower engine cover to expose the oil level sensor.
Unplug the connector and remove the 3 small nuts, then pull down and out the sensor.
Replace all items in reverse order and refill with oil (old or new w/filter).How hard is it to change an oil level sensor in a BMW 325i?Really hard! Oil level sensors are already hard to change, and BMW work is super hard cuz the car is German.
